Cougars have been recently placed back on the endangered species list in California. Living in the Santa Cruz Mountains, I always hope to catch a glimpse of these elusive cats. Beauty, grace, and formidable power! Highway wildlife bridges and corridors are helping reduce some vehicle and cat accidents. More knowledge about the dangers of using rodent poisons and how to better coexist with wildlife are slowly being heard.
