Spring is pupping season for the harbor seals in Monterey Bay. There is a special place where you can go on a guided boat up quiet water in the protected Elkhorn SLough. Here you can watch these animals without risk of disturbing them and see the bonds between a mother and her pup. It is very important to always keep a distance and respect them in their homes. A scared mom could abandon her pup so we must be careful and minimize our impact. I was particularly drawn to the warm orange tones in the mom which complimented the cooler blue tones in her pup.Medium Details
