About the artwork
Marbled Windows #2 (44.75” x 24.75”/ 112 x 61cm) © 2023-2025 Jean M. Judd/Artists Rights Society New York Hand Stitched Thread on Hand Marbled Textile The Marbled Windows series was conceived in January of 2023, when I pulled out the eight panels from 2017 of my first experimentations with marble dyeing using prepared for dyeing (PFD) fabric and Proxion dye exclusively for my own artwork. Marbled Windows #2 is the second of three wall artworks using three of these marbled experimentation panels as the focus. My work is about experimentation with color and texture, whether that is through dyes, threads, or the way light hits the artwork while displayed on a wall. Seven thread colors were used to create textural stitching which can only be appreciated by getting close to the artwork and really looking at the piece. The densely hand stitched design in the marbled panels as well as in the black lightening background was created using the geared drawing tool, Wild Gears. An image of the back of the artwork and a close-up of the textural stitching shows the extent of the meticulous hand workmanship done without a machine. See the Aged Psychedelic series, created in 2019-2022, which was my experimentation of marbling fabric using airbrush paint and my first use of the Wild Gears drawing tools. Installation of this piece can be in either a vertical or horizontal orientation. **Contact Artist for relevant shipping charges to Buyer's location.**Medium Details
