Judd/Artists Rights Society (ARS) New York Hand Stitched Thread on Textile This is the first in a series of quilts using the Wyoming Valley block. The art quilt is made from this one block with each block individually designed to create the overall design. The block used is the Wyoming Valley block from the 1930’s Chicago Tribune column, Nancy Cabot, written by Loretta Leitner Rising. The blue paisley, mint green and solid burgundy colors used in the block, are drawn from the colors in the Angel Tapestry fabric and serve to emphasize the design elements.
