About the artwork
Sound Waves #9: Yellow, Blue & Red - 18" x 43" (46 x 109cm) (c) 2019-2024 Jean M. Judd/Artists Rights Society (ARS) New York Hand Stitched Thread on Hand Dyed Textile Sound Waves #9: Yellow, Blue & Red is continuing to move away from the static graphic lines earlier in the series and morphing into abstract pools and splotches of color. The color references in the title refer to the different colors of “noise”. Blue noise is said to enhance focus and concentration while red noise is the annoying hissing sound we hear coming from our computers, television and radios. Yellow noise resembles the sound of steady rain or a flowing stream and enhances our focus and cognitive function. Turquoise, yellow, and fuchsia are the dominating colors in this piece with subtle nuances of mint green and areas of white. Undulating waves and tight isobars of hand stitched thread in black, blue, yellow, pink, white, and green blue create interesting shadows and light play across the artwork. The image of the back of the artwork highlights the extensive, detailed stitching. A close-up image of the front of the work shows the abstracted images that flow out of the color from the dye interactions with the fabric and the shadow/light play created by the stitching. The artwork is designed to be displayed in either a vertical or horizontal orientation which gives the work a dynamic and new appearance with each change in display. **Contact Artist for relevant shipping charges to Buyer's location.**Medium Details
