About the artwork
Shield (25.75” x 32.75”/66x83cm) © 2011-2022 Jean M. Judd, Textile Artist/Artists Rights Society (ARS) New York Hand Stitched Thread on Hand Dyed Rust Pigmented Textile Shield is one of the early experimentations with transferring antique architectural ironwork onto textiles. I used old ironwork pieces from a fence found at an architectural store in Minneapolis, Minnesota to create the rusted image onto the grey hand dyed background. The dense hand stitched design done in grey blue, rust, and light grey thread radiates out from the five images and brings them all together. Examining the artwork up close reveals the ebb and flow of the hand dyed cloth and the shadow play and contouring created by the hand stitching. The artwork is designed to be displayed in either a vertical or horizontal orientation which allows for versatility in displaying the artwork spatially and visually. **Contact Artist for relevant shipping charges to Buyer's location.**Medium Details
