The ground is a whole cloth textile that has been hand dyed using turquoise and fuchsia. Scientific iron filings and butcher paper were used to rust the unique design onto the ground. Dense hand stitching in a radiating pattern creates the shadow and light play across the artwork. The stitching also gives the piece visual and physical texture.
