Biologists have discovered mutations in frogs and fish so why not for the water spider as well. Rust pigmentation was used to create the design using scientific iron filings on hand dyed fabric. Dense hand stitching in a circular pattern going both clockwise and counter clockwise give dimension and movement to the artwork as well as physical texture.
