Bio

Tom Conner grew up in North Carolina and was drawn to the arts from an early age. He attended the College of Design at North Carolina State University for degrees in environmental design and in architecture while continuing to pursue drawing and painting in his free time. It was after moving to Arizona almost 30 years ago that his true arts education began, in the deserts and forests of the southwest.

Developing a love of great open spaces, hiking, & camping soon filled his free time, where he absorbed the beauty of nature and learned to observe his surroundings. These experiences inspired him to focus his work on landscape painting as a way of sharing these mythical and timeless western places with others.

The exploration of the natural world, effects of sunlight and emotional connection is never ending. Tom works in both plein air and in his studio, always in the pursuit of capturing greater truths.
