Bio

Ria Krishnan was born (1984) and raised in India. She has been drawn towards painting since her childhood. Although she graduated as an Engineer and worked as a software engineer for a few years, she continued to be an artist at heart. Her career took a different path in 2010 when she moved to the U.S with her husband. She decided to pursue her passion full time. Since then there has been no looking back. In hindsight, this was the best decision of her life. Ria has been a student of this craft for a little over a decade. Her skills are a result of countless hours of dedicated practice and workshops/apprenticeships with living masters like Scott Christensen. Her paintings are inspired by her experiences and travels. Making critical decisions with almost every mark, she strives to improve her craft with every new painting she paints. As she puts it, “Painting is my lifestyle. It is a journey of a lifetime, and I am just getting started.”

Her paintings are widely collected across the United States. She has been featured in various publications such as Tri-City Voice, Southwest Art Magazine – 21 Under 31 and American Art Collector. She works from her home studio and lives with her husband in Mountain View, CA.
