Bio

Born in Teaneck, NJ, Megan moved with her family to Manasquan in 1963. In the early 70’s she had her first formal painting instruction in Point Pleasant with renowned landscape painter Ted Goerschner, N.A. (1933 – 2012), who taught that “an artist must know how to draw for their painting to be believable.”

Megan went on to receive a classical art education, studying Life Drawing and Fashion Illustration at Moore College of Art & Design, and drawing and painting the figure and portrait at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. She has taken workshops and master classes with artists including Dan Thompson, Vincent Desiderio, and Ted Goerschner, N.A.

Megan exhibits her paintings and drawings widely and often; her work is included in collections in the United States and abroad. She travels frequently in Europe and the United States, always gaining inspiration for her work.

In addition to her award winning portrait and figurative work, Megan especially enjoys the freedom and looseness of plein air painting, particularly seascapes. She paints often at the beach, studying the beautiful varieties of atmospheric light and color in oils, along the Atlantic Ocean, where she was raised in Manasquan, Sea Girt and Spring Lake, as well as the Pacific Ocean in La Jolla, California, when visiting her son there.

She is represented at Main Street Gallery in Manasquan, NJ and the Salmagundi Club in New York, NY, where she is an Elected Member.

Megan lives and works in North Wales, PA
