Bobby Zokaites is a U.S. based sculptor skilled in a variety of materials with a wealth of experience producing large scale works for private and public spaces. His industrious work ethic and urban design sense enable him to create distinctive works of art that foster new and dynamic relationships between community, site, history and the natural environment. Blurring the line between fine art, public sculpture, and collaborative practices, his work engages diverse audiences, humanizes public spaces, and often encourages participation with larger-than-life-sized artwork. Zokaites earned his BFA at New York College of Ceramics at Alfred University (2008) and his MFA in Sculpture at Arizona State University (2014). Zokaites Sculpture was established as a design-build studio in 2015 to house Zokaites’ experimental studio practice and his large scale-sculpture and public art pursuits.
After completing two major municipal infrastructure projects in Arizona in 2020 (“A Time Machine Called Tinaja” and Tempe Streetcar), Zokaites was a finalist for the Governor’s Arts Award in 2021 and won the Arizona Forward Crescordia Award for Environmental Excellence in Public Art in 2023 for that work. He mounted a first museum solo exhibition at Mesa Contemporary Art Museum in 2023, and recently completed other permanent sculptures in Hawaii (2022) and Idaho (2024). He continues to maintain his studio in Tempe, Arizona while pursuing national and international opportunities.
