About the artwork

Contaminated Water #8: Water Spider (28.25” x 41.75”/ 71 x 107cm) (c) 2011-2013 Jean M. Judd/Artists Rights Society (ARS) New York Hand Stitched Thread on Hand Dyed, Rust Pigmented Textile **Available for Purchase - $7,000** The Contaminated Water series continues with this piece, #8, which is delving into the changes that can happen to the aquatic animals in our water systems. Biologists have discovered mutations in frogs and fish so why not for the water spider as well. Rust pigmentation was used to create the design using scientific iron filings on hand dyed fabric. Dense hand stitching in a circular pattern going both clockwise and counter clockwise give dimension and movement to the artwork as well as physical texture. Designed to be displayed horizontally or vertically. **Contact Artist for relevant shipping charges to Buyer's location.**
