John Shymanski

John Shymanski is a homegrown Iowa artist that has been drawing and painting seriously for three decades. John’s medium is watercolor, and more recently, ink and watercolor. With a prolific portfolio, John’s work has evolved from traditional landscapes focusing on homesteads to some whimsical work featuring city scenes. Often his artwork takes place in the fictional town of Violet Falls, thus many pieces have stories behind them. Largely unmarketed, in the past, John has exhibited at the Iowa State Fair, ribboning in two separate years and achieving People’s Choice Award in another.
